Henry,

There's no telling when this will end, but don't fall into the trap of just giving up. I know it sucks and I know it's easy to do, especially when you're feeling the way you do, but now is the time to do something that you otherwise wouldn't have done. I can't tell you what that is for "you", but think about the things that you've wanted to do, but decided against, because you didn't have the time. Right now you do. Maybe that hobby you like could be a game changer, or maybe an idea on something that you think would be a beneficial product or service. Go for it, because what do you have to lose? The one thing that's for sure is the more time you languish on the negative, the more negative your time will be. I started this blog to give me an outlet and to get back into writing. I used to write a lot when I was younger and before I entered college. When I went into college, I got burned out with reading and writing. Then the career came and I just let it go, but I always had my ideas in the back of my mind. There's gotta be something you've had in the back of yours. Now is the time to give it the shot that you didn't before.

I have those days as well, many of them in fact. At first I would log in to the myriad of websites out there and run down every last lead and apply for anything that I knew I had a good chance of at least getting face time with someone. As time passed I lost that energy when I realized there are countless others in the same situation who are more qualified than me. I used to log into my email hoping to get an email in response to one of the jobs I had applied for, now I hope to just get back a dear John letter so I can have at least some closure but I cannot even have that satisfaction. Every day I listen to the news and it is more hopeless than the day before. You watch the news chopper hover over the masses of people all being herded into the 'job fair' that really has no jobs. Honestly I have just given up and I am letting the cards fall where they may. My unemployment benefits will end and then I guess I will have to figure something else out.. who knows, I have not gotten there yet and I really do not care anymore to be brutally honest. I read that and I can totally relate to you man. Good work man..

You're right. Forcing yourself to be productive just to be productive can be counter productive. However, with me, in relation to "sleeping away", those minor things would be more beneficial then just "laying there". With that being said, there are some days when just "laying there" is acceptable. LOL! Goes back to doing what makes you happy! Thanks for reading and for the comment.
